‘The Walking Dead’ Season 6, Episode 15 Review: East – Forbes

Two characters both act, if not entirely out of character, far more stupid and selfish than their characters would reasonably act.

I don’t think it’s out of character. Daryl runs off alone, it’s what he does (he did it to search for Sophie and numerous other times over the course of the series). Daryl is a reckless character with strong convictions and a rebellious streak, so when he’s pissed and sets his mind to right a wrong, no one’s gonna stop him. Although he has gotten less reckless and more sociable in recent times, a person can regress after a traumatic experience.

As for Carol, I think she’s either confused or about to have a nervous breakdown, or in the process of having a nervous breakdown. Maybe Morgan really got to her; taken in this context, her rash actions become more believable. Anybody can reach a breaking point, especially a domestic violence victim in a zombie apocalypse.

Re: The Walking Dead season 6 episode 15 review: East

I see lots of people complaining about plot holes and what not, but seriously, if you look hard enough there are enough plot holes to sink the Titanic in pretty much every major TV show or movie. Just look at The 100: it’s got like literally a hundred plot holes per episode, but who cares, it’s still massively popular because it’s good entertainment, and people get that it’s fiction. If you want to watch something without plot holes, then watch a documentary ;).

This Is What a ‘Happy’ Episode of The Walking Dead Looks Like

He soundly kicks Daryl’s ass, but eventually he and Rick get the better of him.

Jesus kicked Rick’s ass first, not Daryl’s.

Sweet Jesus this should have been the mid-season premiere and last week’s episode the mid-season finale.

Totally!

I love that when Jesus was pretending to be knocked-out, he kept managing to fall against Daryl.

I don’t think he was pretending. If you watch the scene again, you’ll notice that Rick was intentionally swerving the car so Jesus would lean into Daryl.

I wish that the show had foreshadowed this relationship even the tiniest degree, because pre-ordained by the comics or not, it feels very rushed, even arbitrary.

Ummm…have you even been watching this show? They’ve been foreshadowing the hell out of it.

Really? I don’t feel like this was foreshadowed as an intimate, sexual relationship. They feel like family – just as Carol and Daryl feel like family.

I agree…what has been foreshadowed was more like a platonic relationship – I never felt any sexual tension, maybe because Rick was busy making out with the psychotic kid’s mom (her name escapes me at the moment).

Agreed. They acted as if they were survivor newbies! C’mon, when you come upon a mother lode of supplies served on a silver platter (a truck ready to be driven home) in a zombie apocalypse, what’s the most important thing to do? Bring it home, of course. It is disappointing to have two strong characters with normally good instincts having a brain fart at the same time.

Furthermore, they were both totally clowned by Jesus and they are partially to blame for losing the truck. Why didn’t they just drive off once Jesus fell off the truck?? Neither Rick nor Daryl were thinking clearly in this episode.

Re: How Andrew Lincoln Feels About Frank Darabont Getting Fired From The Walking Dead

“Cult classic films such as The Shawshank Redemption”, Shawshank is not a cult movie!

Of course it is. Its extremely popular.

Shawshank is a wildly popular and widely praised film that is currently sitting in the #1 spot (for awhile now) of IMDb’s “Top 250 as voted by users” list. It is a classic, yes, but not a cult classic. A cult classic would be something like Snowpiercer, which has a relatively small but disproportionately passionate following.

The one thing you missed on the mid-season premiere of “The Walking Dead,” and why it’s so important

But moments before this explosion happens, another car shows up way off in the distance. It’s hard to spot, and you might have to squint and rewatch a few times, but it’s undeniably something off in the distance.

Or a random car accidentally drove onto the set. It happens (even in Hollywood movies).

I wholeheartedly agree that the first couple of episodes in season one were a mistake. However, not continuing on to watch the rest of the episodes would be an even bigger mistake. This show is starting to supplant TWD as my fav on TV.

Re: The Walking Dead Is Definitely Changing Locations Soon, See The Evidence

With Gimple, Kirkman & Co. recently announcing that our beloved series could continue forever…. YAY…YESSSS! 18+ million viewers can’t be wrong. Nor the numerous television & cable nominations & awards it has won. TWD reinvented cable & television viewing… and it’s here to stay.

The Walking Dead….it’s not a show….it’s a Lifestyle <3

Yes! TWD is soap opera for the new generation ^^.

Precisely what TWD has evolved to. And that’s a good thing. No other show or series on cable or network quite like it. The Powers/Writers know what they’re doing, most of the time :) Other soapish series’ have survived 10/12/15 seasons, to date: Dawson’s Creek, One Tree Hill (to name a couple)

If TWD had come out in the 80s, it would’ve been called Days of Our F*cked Up Lives ;). Another apt title would be As the World Turns, putting a whole new spin on the word “turns” ;).
